Quantitative assessment of the genetic risk of cardiovascular diseases of various nosologies
One of the main mediators of the bradykinin effect reducing vascular tone and promoting smooth muscle contraction. The I/I allele variant increases the risk of a myocardial infarction, atrial fibrillation, phlebothrombosis and pulmonary embolism. The presence of the D allele is associated with high gene expression and a more pronounced vasodilatory effect.
